Keurseus Dance is a dance in close relation to dance tayub, namely social dance among the marvelous (lords) sunda. In Tayub dance, dance movement does not have the special pattern, either by the will and the repertory movement of each dancer. Therefore, a free dance Tayub sometimes uncontrolled, so Tayuban serve as a meeting gathering between seizing ronggeng penaridan into the arena while intoxicated influence of liquor.
A group of fans nayub not like such things, so they tried to bring order nayuban and dance. Similarly, alcohol is prohibited until memabukan and ronggeng whose main duty was as sinden must remain seated and do not need to dance. Dance Keurseus prepared by R. Sambas Wirakoesoemah, headman Ranchi (Bandung) in 1915-1920 and 1926-1935. He is the son Nyi Raden Raden Ratnamirah and Mintapradjakoesoemah, Wedana Tanjungsari, Sumedang. In 1905-1913, Wirakoesoemah learn to dance to Uwanya, Rd. Hj. Koesoemaningroem, dancer in the District Soil and he also studied in Sentana (Wentar), singers Mask of Palimanan 1914. From lunch to learn dance, then he composed and tidy dance Tayub. Dance Keurseus include: Dance Kawitan, Gunungsari, lenyepan, slow-tempo rhythm (4 wilet). Dance Gawil, medium tempo rhythm. Monggawa fast tempo dance rhythms (1 wilet). And Totopengan or Ngalana, play tempo rhythm Gurudugan (very fast, ½ wilet).
