Artistry is developed around the end of the 20th century plantations in the area of ​​Subang district. This resulted in increased earnings of the workers thus improving their living conditions. The contract laborers get higher salaries when compared with labor costs in other areas. This condition is very supportive of the arts doger life is increasingly a place in the hearts of its people as it can entertain the contract laborers. 
Arts doger and ronggeng in West Java found in two areas, namely in the coastal region (north) and in the mountains (the south). This art was originally brought by the artists bebarang (circumference) is brought to the plantation. Of contiguity between ronggeng and folk art, it gives birth to art doger. Every weekend, when the contract laborers receive a salary, doger group show held simultaneously with the convening of the night market. The place is considered a fertile ground for the money, and doger become one of entertainment for plantation workers.

Around the 1970's there was an attempt to revitalize the show doger, who was appointed and conducted by the College of Arts lecturer Indonesia Bandung. Dance was born which later was named Doger Contract. This dance until the year 2001 is often the material performances in various events in West Java.
